Launched in January 2024 in Park City and expanded to Summit County in June 2024, the Needs- Based Child Care Scholarship Program helps families with young children afford quality child care.

In its first year, the program has provided significant financial relief to participating families while also strengthening the local child care sector.

This report offers the first local-level look at the economic impact of child care tuition assistance programs, setting it apart from existing state-level analyses. It includes program metrics, survey results, testimonials, and feedback from families and child care providers.

Every dollar invested in the program generated at least $3.13 in economic impact

The program has enabled 125 local families to afford quality child care, while supporting the sustainability of 28 local child care businesses.  

60% of participants maintained continuous employment, 32% rejoined the workforce
